CHIEF MINISTER’S CHARITABLE FUND 2020 GRANT – $10,000

When health restrictions came into force in response to COVID-19, culturally and linguistically diverse community members were significantly affected.

A Chief Minister’s Charitable Fund grant enabled the Multicultural Hub to provide essential support to their clients in Canberra and Queanbeyan who had lost their employment but had not been eligible for any of the government welfare packages released in response to the financial impact of COVID-19.

The grant funding provided emergency food relief to families with large numbers and to individuals who had no family or friends to provide them with support. It also provided rental support for clients most likely to lose their rental properties and at risk of homelessness.
