ACT Eden Monaro Cancer Support Group – T/As Rise Above Rise Above also known as The ACT Eden Monaro Cancer Support Group has been operating in the ACT, Queanbeyan & surrounding communities for 35 years. RA is a small NGO that provides financial assistance to people of all ages with all types of Cancer. Rise Above offer an allocation of $2,500 to our cancer patients. This covers chemotherapy costs, pharmacy accounts, food and drink supplements, food & petrol vouchers, and gas & electricity bills. Since 1986 we have spent over 10 million dollars financially supporting thousands of cancer patients in our region.
ACT Pet Crisis Support ACT Pet Crisis Support aims to help pet owners faced with an unexpected veterinary bill for their pet by providing subsidised veterinary care. If a pet owner is unable to be approved for VetPay and has no other options to pay for their pet's medical care, a veterinarian can apply for help from the charity. We aim to support pet owners who would otherwise have to euthanase or surrender their beloved pet.

AEIOU Foundation At AEIOU our purpose is to enhance the lives of children with autism and their families through evidence-based, successful early intervention programs and practical support. Our vision is children with autism living their best lives. We provide children with early intervention learning and support, enabling them to transition to the next level of schooling and towards an improved and productive life. We specialise in teaching children functional communication, behaviour, social and independent living skills, including toilet training and mealtime support. Each child receives individual strategies focusing on goals that best support them to achieve their identified outcomes, transition to their next learning environment, and effectively contribute to the wider community.
Australian Kookaburra Kids Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation proudly supports young people living in families impacted by mental illness. The program provides evidence-based, age-appropriate pre-early intervention mental health services embedded within a peer-based social and activity-based format. Our program supports at-risk children in their formative years and offers them a genuine pathway of hope and a community of connectedness to adulthood. The program is open to all families where mental illness in a parent or child is impacting on other children in the family. Our program is designed regardless of gender or cultural identification. There is no cost to participate in any of the Kookaburra Kids programs.

Cancer Council ACT CCACT is a non government not-for-profit community organisation that promotes a healthier community by reducing the incidence & impact of cancer in the ACT. The CCACT depends largely on the generosity of the ACT & surrounding community providing donations and supporting fundraising initiatives.
Canteen ACT and Southern NSW Canteen is the only organisation in Australia that is dedicated to providing tailored support for young people aged 12-25 who are impacted by cancer, whether their own diagnosis or a close family member’s. We help young people: -connect with peers in similar situations through camp-based programs and recreation days; – access online and face-to-face counselling; – join an online support community of peers 24/7 and; – if they’ve been diagnosed themselves, we provide Youth Cancer Services which are specialised treatment and support services based in major hospitals throughout Australia.

Cyclabilities Incorporated (changing to Abilities Unlimited Australia) Abilities Unlimited Australia’s (AUA) Cyclabilities and WaterAbilities programs are community driven initiatives supporting children living with a disability to participate meaningfully and inclusively in sporting activities. These programs are uniquely modelled on allied health principles and delivered within a therapeutic framework. The weekly programs encourage children with disabilities and their families regularly engaging with their local community to develop safety skills, fundamental movement skills and swimming and cycling skills. The programs also promote positive mental health and wellbeing through building community and social connectedness. Developed and directed entirely by volunteers and facilitated by Allied Health Professionals and Disability Support workers, participants are supported to build skills and capacity to remove barriers often associated with further participation in organised sporting and recreational activity.
Cystic Fibrosis ACT Cystic Fibrosis ACT is a predominantly volunteer organisation supported by one part time staff member. Our small organisation provides vital support to 86 individuals living with Cystic Fibrosis, and their families who are located in the ACT and surrounding region. CFACT receives no government funding and relies on donations and fundraising to support its activities. CFACT’s core objectives are to provide information and financial assistance to improve outcomes for people with CF.

Dementia Australia Dementia is the second leading cause of death in Australia yet remains one of the most challenging and misunderstood conditions. Founded by carers more than 35 years ago, today we are the national peak body for people impacted by dementia in Australia. We involve people impacted by dementia and their experiences in our activities and decision-making, to make sure we are representative of the diverse range of dementia experiences across Australia. We amplify the voices of people impacted by dementia through advocating and sharing stories to help inform and inspire others. Dementia Australia is the source of trusted information, education and support services. We advocate for positive change for people living with dementia, their families and carers, and support vital research. We are here to support people impacted by dementia, and to enable them to live as well as possible.
Diversity ACT Community Services Diversity ACT is a community based, registered charity, run by volunteers that provides a service hub, social worker, support networks, groups and community resources to assist the LGBTIQ+ community of the ACT Region.
Doris Women’s Refuge Incorportated Our extensive range of activities is delivered to homeless or at risk of homelessness women and children in crisis due to experiences of violence in the home and family environments. We provide crisis and intensive support and accommodation, holistically assisting them to address needs identified in their case plan, including in the areas of advocacy and support for access to legal, health, participation in education, training and employment, income support, child protection and child development, parenting skills, counselling and mental health, drug and alcohol dependency, immigration, gambling addiction, long term housing and living skills. We dedicate our work with the aim to contribute to influencing change in community behaviour and attitudes that perpetuate violence against women and children. We deliver inclusive services to very vulnerable women and children, including those from Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Communities. We are confident that we responsibly fulfill our governance and contractual requirements and that we assist women and children to meet positive outcomes and achieve safety and family stability.
Epilepsy ACT Epilepsy ACT aims to make the lives of those with epilepsy and their loved ones more safe and secure. We offer training both in schools and in workplaces. We offer online resources, referrals and support groups to those who need it.
GIVIT Listed Ltd GIVIT is a non-profit organisation that connects donors with community organisations to make sure people and communities get exactly what they need, when they need it – whether recovering from a disaster event, or experiencing hardship due to circumstances such as drought, domestic and family violence, homelessness, disability and mental health. GIVIT captures all offers of goods, volunteering and services online at GIVIT.org.au, removing the burden on organisations to collect, sort, store and dispose of donations they don’t need. GIVIT allows organisations to focus on delivering their core community service, reducing the significant administrative and financial cost of managing donations and offers of help. GIVIT is a free to use and 100% of donations go directly to fulfilling our registered users needs.
Good Omen Goodeze Inc Good Omen Goodeze Inc (affectionately known as GOG) began life as a Canberra based community needle-craft group providing personalised hand crafted comfort ‘Goodies’, for patients and their loved ones in need of comfort or warmth in the Canberra Hospital. Our 'Goodies' are made from yarn donated by our members and members of the local community. We have proudly been supplying patients and families of the Canberra Health Services since May 2017 and the University of Canberra Hospital since 2019. This includes patients in all areas, with a special focus on the Intensive Care Unit, Aged Care and End of Life Care. In February 2019 we piloted a Knitting for Mindfulness Program within The Canberra Hospital and in late 2019 it was announced that our program would roll out throughout the Canberra Hospital as well as the University of Canberra Hospital. Unfortunately due to the Covid19 Pandemic, this was put on hold. In September 2020 GOG applied for and won a ‘Covid19 Mental Health Innovations Grant’ which gave us the opportunity to provide a similar wellness program to the wider Canberra Community.

Hartley Lifecare Established in 1962, Hartley Lifecare (Hartley) is a Canberra-based not-for-profit organisation providing supported accommodation for people with disability, their families and carers. Originally established to provide a learning facility and therapy support service for children and adults, Hartley has grown extensively to support clients in over 30 homes across the ACT. Over the last six decades, families have grown to rely on and trust Hartley to deliver high quality, person centred support. As we move toward 2023, Hartley will continue to maintain and build upon these strong foundations, ensuring that our clients and their families have opportunities to live their best life. Hartley Lifecare relies on NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) funding, corporate partners and individual donors as well as special events to raise the funds needed to enable us to expand and enhance the services we provide to people living with disability in our local community.
Havelock Housing Association Havelock Housing Association (HHA), provides safe and secure homes to Canberra’s very low income earners, those with disability and those with high and complex service needs. We currently have around 400 tenants in 200 properties across the ACT. We provide an inclusive Community Development Program supporting our residents to sustain their tenancies and improve their overall well-being.

Hepatitis ACT Hepatitis ACT empowers people and communities by reducing the impact of viral hepatitis in the ACT. We aim to reduce transmission, and the associated morbidity and mortality, and to minimise the personal and social impacts.
Karinya House for Mothers and Babies Every woman who is pregnant or parenting should be surrounded with the support she needs. However, not every woman has safety, shelter, or a positive support network. Karinya House walks with women in Canberra and the surrounding Region providing safety, shelter and a positive support network. A local, not for profit organisation, the Karinya House funding framework is a true cooperative of individuals, families, community groups, corporates, philanthropic and government funding partners. This cooperative approach to funding is a tangible expression of positive recognition of women in our community, who are pregnant or parenting. Your support and partnership with us is welcome.

Marymead Marymead, a well-respected, not-for-profit organisation servicing the ACT and southern and western regional areas of NSW, has been delivering a range of high quality, family support services to children, young people and their families since 1967. With offices in Canberra and in NSW at Goulburn, Moruya, Young and Wagga Wagga, Marymead’s array of programs and services include child and family counselling, early intervention programs, Permanency Program (out of home care), post separation support, the Autism Centre, parent education groups, family and mental health support programs and contact and changeover services for separated parents in significant conflict. Marymead also offers innovative, person-centred support services for people with disability and their families. These services may be purchased through funds received under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), and include short term accommodation, after-school care and school holiday programs, skills development, recreation groups and in-home support.
Menslink Menslink provide counselling to young guys between the ages of 10-25 and Mentoring to young guys between the ages of 10-16. We also provide Education programs to local Primary and High schools. All our services are at no charge to the client.

Meridian Meridian is a peer-led, community-controlled organisation taking action to improve the health and wellbeing of people impacted by HIV and LGBTIQ+ people, and create safe and inclusive communities. Meridian provides sexual health education and prevention, targeted health promotion activities, community events, education and training. Meridian Wellbeing Services provide low and no cost counselling and mental health support including psychologists, mental health social workers and peer-led support services.

Mind Medicine Australia Mind Medicine Australia is a registered DGR 1 charity founded by Tania de Jong AM and Peter Hunt AM, pioneering the development of regulatory-approved and research-backed medicine-assisted psychotherapy for the treatment of mental ill-health in Australia. Specifically, the clinical application of medicinal psilocybin and MDMA for the treatment of depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), end-of-life stress and addiction. Our mission is to help alleviate the suffering caused by our accelerating mental illness epidemic in Australia. We do this through expanding the treatment options available to medical practitioners and their patients (including Veterans who are suffering with mental illnesses) so that these medicines are available to all Australians needing these treatments irrespective of wealth or location. PhotoAccess Established in 1984, PhotoAccess is an incorporated non-profit association supporting the local community to learn about, make and share photography as a means of self expression, social connection and collective memory-making. Through workshops, exhibitions and engagement activities, as well as hosting publicly accessible making spaces, PhotoAccess provides opportunities for Canberrans of all backgrounds to develop visual literacy, contribute their story to the public conversation and participate in shaping our city, community and culture.
Raise Foundation Raise Foundation has the vision to be a powerful mentoring movement creating thriving communities across Australia with the mission to positively impact youth wellbeing and engagement through early intervention mentoring programs in secondary schools. We are empowering young people to become resilient, capable and connected by ensuring that they feel heard, valued and supported. Our early intervention model helps to address significant social issues such as youth mental illness, social and emotional wellbeing, early school leaving, and youth unemployment. Over the last 12 years, we have connected almost 4,800 trained volunteer mentors with more than 6,300 young people. In 2021 alone, we are aiming to provide a Raise Mentor to 2,000 young people across NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, ACT.

Roundabout Canberra Roundabout Canberra was established in 2018 to collect donations of pre-loved high quality baby items to be cleaned and safety checked then passed onto families in need of basic essential baby and children's items through a network of over 90 community organisations and not-for-profits. Powered by over 250 volunteers, Roundabout Canberra provides love from community members in the form of practical support of baby and children's items such as cots, prams, car-seats, clothing, linen, toys , books and more!
Sailability Canberra Yacht Club Sailability CYC welcomes all people to sailing without regard to age, ability, gender or socio-economic status. We cater for people with disabilities who wish to experience 'freedom on the water' and have facilities and resources to teach people to sail and allow them to broaden their horizons. These facilities include specially designed boats, jetty's, and launching equipment to ensure safety and accessibility for people of all abilities. We provide an important community service allowing people to broaden their horizons. We also strongly encourage family groups and provide a safe, supportive and friendly environment where challenges are met and overcome. We offer a safe & inclusive platform for participants to build confidence, and a established pathway for them to progress from Come and Try sailing activities through to full control sailing and competitive racing within mainstream sailing fleets. The Early Morning Centre – UnitingCare Canberra City The Early Morning Centre provides a safe space for some of our city’s most vulnerable people. With the help of dedicated volunteers, we provide meals, facilities, support and facilitate healthcare, accommodation support and community services.
The Farm in Galong Limited Situated on 3 acres of heritage-listed property, the Farm in Galong is a relatively new service that commenced in November 2019, providing recovery focussed, strength-based and person centred care to women with AOD abuse. Counsellors work from a trauma informed perspective, aware of the correlation between substance abuse and other mental health issues, as well as family violence/breakdown, assault, grief & loss, child removal, negative interactions with the police/justice system, and complex trauma.
The Men’s Table Over dinner once a month, it creates a sense of belonging, community, peer support and camaraderie that is lacking for many men, even for some who already have a group of mates. The Men’s Table entrée nights are information nights where men can find out if The Men’s Table is for them.
The Shepherd Centre The Shepherd Centre provides life-changing support and education for deaf children and their families. We teach children to speak and communicate so that they can overcome the disadvantages of their disability, and reach their full potential!
The Violet Initiative The Violet Initiative exists to reduce regretful outcomes in the last stage of life for Australians, their caregivers and their families. Violet is a national social enterprise, making a positive contribution to the last stage of life. We provide support for people in the last stage of life, their families and the organisations they interact with.
This Is My Brave Australia Inc. TIMBA is a registered charity with the ACNC and is dedicated to breaking the stigma surrounding mental illness through our community based activities and is 100% volunteer driven
UnitingCare Kippax UnitingCare Kippax (UCK) is a local community based non-profit organisation situated in the West Belconnen area. We run a variety of programs including emergency material and financial relief, case management, parenting support groups, community and supported children's playgroups and children's educational readiness programs.
