Charity House Whitlam 2026

Hands Across Canberra has once again joined forces with Master Builders ACT to build a brand-new home in Whitlam, Canberra’s newest, most family-friendly and sustainable suburb. It’s our fourth Collaborative Build together, following the success of our previous charity house in Strathnairn — and it’s shaping up to be our biggest yet.

The house is being constructed by third-generation Canberra building firm A + P Leemhuis Builders, with generous support from dozens of local builders, tradespeople and suppliers who have donated their time, materials and expertise to boost the project’s impact. Once complete, the home will be auctioned, with all profits directed to Canberra charities — with a particular focus on supporting victims and survivors of domestic and family violence.

This isn’t just a house. It’s a symbol of what Canberra can achieve when an entire industry comes together for a cause — demonstrating leadership, social responsibility, and a shared commitment to making a direct, measurable difference in the lives of people in our community who need it most.
