Adamas Nexus is empowering women to emerge stronger on the other side of domestic violence and abuse trauma.

In the shadows of alarming statistics lies a harsh reality: according to the 2023 Australian Bureau of Statistics, 41% or nearly 2 in 6 Australian women have endured the horrors of Domestic Violence or Sexual abuse after the age of 15.

Adamas Nexus is empowering women to emerge stronger on the other side of domestic violence and abuse trauma. Through online meetings, women from diverse backgrounds gather to discuss the challenges, triumphs, and setbacks of reconstructing their lives and careers. These sessions provide a space for encouragement, mentorship, and simply being heard.

Adamas Nexus is motivated to lift other women who have been through similar domestic violence/sexual abuse experiences so they can be validated, heard, and supported, and be enabled and confident to contribute back into their communities and society.  The group looks to help improve their lives, promote their recovery, and empower them to succeed.

The support group philosophy is a ‘growth’ philosophy.  During the meetings, intimate details of the abuse are not discussed.  The focus is on ways to progress forward: what attendees have used to assist them in their growth journey after the abuse/trauma.  The support group shows women that they matter, what they do matters and that they are valuable members of their family, workplace, and community despite what they have been led to believe through their abuse and by their abusers.

Adamas Nexus is unique in its format which aims for long term post-crisis support of survivors of abuse.  It complements counsellors, psychiatrists, therapists, other support groups and mental health plans.   It allows survivors to return to the group at times during their life when they feel alone, vulnerable and in need of support.

Enabling survivors to know they are not alone, hearing similar stories, experiences and emotions and being able to speak in a confidential and supportive environment, positively affects this complex social problem.
