Canberra's largest community organisation, providing support for our vulnerable people

At Communities at Work, people are at the heart of everything we do and we pride ourselves on the positive contribution we make to the lives of people in our community. Our committed employees, volunteers, partners and supporters go above and beyond to deliver high-quality services that support positive educational outcomes, assist in alleviating hardship, enhance quality of life, and lead to positive social outcomes.

As a people-focused organisation, Communities at Work is committed to creating a sustainable future for the Canberra community. Our surplus-for-purpose philosophy means that we invest every dollar right back into the local Canberra community, to provide much-needed support for Canberra’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged through a range of community support services and ongoing education for vulnerable and disadvantaged young people through our Galilee School.

We also provide services to seniors and people living with disability, developing their skills for independent living, and ensuring they have social engagement and connection to health services and inclusion with the community.

Our community development team partners with local communities, individuals, and businesses to develop initiatives to connect and develop our communities and neighbourhoods.

Communities at Work is also the largest provider of children’s services in the ACT region, providing a wide range of early education and care, out of school hours care and family and in-home day care to almost 10,000 children in the ACT and Capital region.
